In support of its Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (CNS) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) System Modernisation Program, PNG Air Services Ltd (PNGASL) has received funding from the Australian Government under the Papua New Guinea - Australia Transport Sector Support Program (TSSP) for the design of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) approaches at a number of key airports throughout Papua New Guinea. PNGASL is now calling for tender proposals for this project. PNGASL provides CNS and ATM Services to aircraft operating within the PNG airspace (Port Moresby Flight Information Region (FIR) and is in the early stages of a transition to Performance Based Navigation. In support of the transition, PNGASL requires the design and validation of GNSS-based approaches at up to thirty-one (31) key airports throughout PNG. In addition, the project requires the supply of Area 2 (a, b, c, d) WGS 84 aeronautical data to enable GNSS-based approaches for Aropa and Kokoda airports. Sufficient WGS-84 aeronautical data to enable approach design at the remaining airports will be supplied by PNGASL. Tenders are invited from reputable companies who currently hold PNG Civil Aviation Rule Part 173 Approval or an equivalent from a contracting state, for the provision of the service.
