This Agency Support Arrangement, between CASA and the Australian High Commission, provides a plan for implementing a series of activities to strengthen aviation safety and security and was designed after an assessment of CASA’s capacity to meet current and future priorities.
The Arrangement, funded by the Australian Government, seeks to enhance CASA’s compliance with both domestic and international safety and security regulations whilst delivering rigorous training across the aviation sector.
CASA CEO, Wilson Sagati OBE, was delighted to sign this multi-year Arrangement that will assist in planning to build the capacity of the Authority. “PNG’s economic growth relies heavily on aviation both domestically and, increasingly, internationally. It is vital that CASA staff and industry professionals grasp this opportunity to develop skills to meet international best practice. Furthermore, it was most useful for our future investment and planning to undertake an independent review of the relevant regulatory requirements to ensure that they meet the changing needs of our growing aviation sector.”
