In 2006 the National Executive Council of the Government of Papua New Guinea agreed to establish a decision making body for the transport sector as a whole. The Transport Sector Coordination, Monitoring and Implementation Committee (TSCMIC) held its 50th meeting in May 2015. All transport sector agencies are members of this body and meetings are also attended by donor partners.
TSCMIC aims to improve transport services for PNG and its people to foster the economic and social development of our country
TSCMIC meets regularly and is chaired by the Secretary of the Department of Transport, Roy Mumu, OBE who is proud of recent achievements.
Working together since 2006 has brought major benefits. The sector now has a National Transport Strategy, Medium Term Transport Plan and, most importantly, is at the forefront of national budget preparation for the sector. TSCMIC aims to improve transport services for PNG and its people to foster the economic and social development of our country.
TSSP continues to provide secretariat support to TSCMIC and is engaged in supporting strategic and policy discussions.
